Cozy Evening, Yummy Christmas Drinks!

Tis' the season to get cozy with your loved ones and enjoy the chilly evenings by being inside with a warm Christmas beverage and delicious treats! I was in the spirit this morning to search for some lovely holiday drink and treat ideas. So many endless possibilities I came across, but I came across a few I thought my readers would really appreciate it, especially because home made always tastes so much better!! So get out your pen and paper and jot down a list of what you'll need, head to the store, get to shopping, come home prepare and invite some friends over, get out the games, turn up the Christmas Music and get cozy~! This is the recipe for a wonderful Chilly festive night in. :)

Bet you didn't know Eggnog could be made from home and made to be some what on the healthy list if you use this recipe provided below! I came across this on pinterest and had to share.

Healthy Makeover Eggnog: A holiday classic, reinvented with only one-fourth the saturated fat and half the cholesterol of the original. Don’t worry, it still has its decadent flavor and thick, rich texture. You will never believe that it is only 105 calories per serving.

3 large eggs
3 large egg whites
5 ½ cups of low-fat milk
½ cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of vanilla
1/3 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1/3 cup of dark Jamaican rum (optional)

In bowl, with whisk, beat eggs and egg whites until blended; set aside. In heavy 4-quart saucepan, with heat-safe spatula, mix 4 cups milk with sugar, cornstarch and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Cook on medium-high until mixture boils and thickens slightly, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Remove saucepan from heat.
Gradually whisk ½ cup simmering milk mixture into eggs; pour egg mixture back into milk in saucepan, whisking constantly, to make custard.
Pour custard into large bowl; stir in vanilla, nutmeg, rum and the remaining 1 ½ cups of milk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or up to 2 days. Sprinkle eggnog with nutmeg to serve.

Here's another eye catcher that I bet is a taste bud pleaser as well:) Doesnt it look delicious!! This is a recipe via Martha Stewart, it has been said that children really really love this, I say, I bet adults do too, throw in some peppermint snaps, and wahlaaaa!! !!

Here are some beautiful way to serve your holiday drinks this year. Thanks to pinterest so many amazing ideas are being shared world wide!!

Enjoy your last Sunday before Christmas, & and if your like me the gift wrapping and last minute stress begins now!! SO lessen your stress with a Christmas Cocktail:)

Merry Christmas

A Stone of Spirit with Waves of Eternity.

Because, I really love so many styles, I end up with a huge closet of many different options.  I am also learning that so many looks I am loving I can put together with things I already have!  Like any girl though, I love buying new things to add to my closet! Having new items is such an exciting feeling.

For this look I paired a black tank layered under a denim button up with a pair of skinny legging jeans a black belt & and my black lita look a likes.

This is a street fashion look I put together for going out and about on one of my past days off last week.  I wanted to keep it casual as I was only going out grocery shopping and to do a few other things, yet if you haven't noticed yet I have to add a fashionable flare to everything I wear. I've never ever just been a jeans and t shirt kind of girl, if some thought wasen't put into the outfit then its just not for me:)  I love to piece different options together, the more and more I blog the more I am becoming truly in love with fashion but on a different level and not only a new love is developing but more of an appreciation for the art of it. So much personality and originality comes into play when I put together styles and looks.  Its like my heart speaks some times through my styles and I am so grateful to be a person in this world who simply does not care how others view what I choose to cloth my body with.  I hope to be an inspiration for so many other girls who are fearful of being fashionable because of what others will say or think of them.  I say if your happy with how it looks then wear it, and ROCK IT!  When you feel good about what you wear and how you look it truly shows in how you carry yourself.  Get out there and let your personality show in your daily style. Create yourself and I promise you will be looked up to, others will see your pride and want to carry themselves in the same manner.  Let your inner energy radiate:) Never stray from your soul and stay true to yourself.

xoxo Jenny

Look Beyond this Earth

MY second polyvore set, I am still kinda getting used to polyvore and how it works so I thought I'd practice a little and put together one with my favorite print right right. The Cosmic Trend!!

I am seriously loving the cosmic galaxy print incorporated into clothing! Maybe its because I have always loved to look at pictures of space and all the beautiful galaxies. The colors so bright and vivid, have pulled me in since I was just a young girl. I can only imagine and dream of what it truly must look like up there. I will forever be mesmerized and question space, the universe and all the mysteries it holds.

Black Milk is a company I have yet to blog of until now, but trust me you will be hearing lots more about them. I am truly in love with their prints patterns and designs. Their leggings are to die for!! I recently just ordered my first pair of cosmic leggings. Unfortunately trying to save money I had to go with a pair I found on ebay. NO where near as colorful and beautiful as Black Milks line. I was kind of sad when they came because I had really looked forward to receiving them but was let down when I opened the packaging and saw the colors were not vivid like they had been in photos. Oh well, that's what I get for not just splurging and going with Black Milk! Being a fashion blogger and being fully immersed in the fashion world online, there's always a zillion things I have my eye on that I want to save for. Black Milk leggings are a top on my list as are the gorgeous black wedge back off boots by Jeffrey Campbell. I have wanted them since I came across a pair online! They are simply perfect with leggings, every time I see them on a model I want to just buy them soo badly, but at nearly 200.00 I definitely have to save:)I wish I had an endless bank account and a ginormous closet so I could buy buy buy and wear wear wear.. but then I have to snap out of dream land and back to reality and just remind myself that maybe someday I will be at a blogging level I can afford more amazing pieces to put outfits together to bring to you here on my blog:) I must be patient I guess, something I struggle with so much of the time, but am getting better and better at:) To find more amazing black milk pieces check out their site

Spiritual Rocker

I have always loved looking at other combinations put together by fellow polyvore members but had yet to ever put anything together or even try it out until this afternoon! So take it easy on me and my first combination:)

I am absolutely loving this trend right now so I decided to put together some styles of pieces I really loving At the moment! !

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketUntil just recently I wasn't sure what exactly to classify the popular trend I fell so hard for, and have no idea why I am so drawn to the sloppy rocker high fashion at times festival like look. I love the contrast about it, pairing two crazy things together and making it work. The inner energy when wearing this style gives me this I can concur the world will still looking fashionable feel, if that makes sense at all:) Nastygal has became a huge favorite of mine for finding inspiration in outfits. I love how they style their models. While writing this article something dawned on me that now makes perfect sense as to why I love this look and style so much. All of my life I have been drawn to the Olson Twins, absolutely loved and envied them and their style sense. Now its like they are finally making cloths in stores that are vintage thrift like. CLothes that resemble their amazing fashion sense. Lately I'd have to say Miley Cyrus is a follower and a great example of someone who has been known to sports the grunge style well. I definitely will say I think their is a soft grunge and a hard core grunge, my style is borderline grunge and pretty soft mixed with bohemian/hippy. Nothing to eccentric, I mostly fan the oversized blouses worn as jackets the high waisted shorts the ankle boots and midcalf boot, litas, leggings. I hope the pictures help you to see what inspires my style and provides you with my stylings:) Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Obsidian Soul

This look is from this past Saturday, I choose this look to wear to celebrate my good friend Brittany and her groom Javin's wedding. I know some of you are probably thinking black to a wedding?? This is a wedding, not a funeral. I have and always will have an obsession for black, no idea why but I just cant let it go. I had been needing an opportunity to wear this dress before summer ended. After much debate over if or if not to wear this, I just decided I'd go for it and dressed it with accessories. I have really been loving the different skirt layers this summer as well as the going into fall styles. I love how the look it gives by having the longer lace overlay on this style. I paired this dress with my Lita look a likes I purchased on ebay and a thunderbird belt also purchased on Ebay. I also choose this hat with feathers on the band to add a fun summer afternoon festive vibe to it.

Thunderbird Belt - Ebay
Lita Look a Likes - Ebay

The Day the Earth Stood Still

Since I started working again keeping up daily on my blog is a bit of a task as I don't get to dress up in my regular clothes on work days. Then, by the time I am off I am really just wanting to shower and relax and not get re-dressed and done up for a outfit post. So I am trying to get a few looks done on my days off, that way I can post throughout the week while I am working! This look I put together this past weekend and am sharing with you now:)

The entire outfit consists mostly of forever 21 pieces. The shoes however are my Lita look a likes. These are my Newest pair!! They truly look absolutely identical and are literally less than have the cost of the original Jeffery Campbell Lita's. When I find good deals like this I couldn't be happier!! I have been obsessed with the Lita style since first seeing them in spring of 2011. I still have yet to own a real pair. Coming in at right under 200.00 and some ranging upwards of 300.00 I just cant seem to fork out the cash for the real deal when I wasn't able to work for nearly two years due to being in a car accident(that was not our fault) and my funds are minimal right now as I get my life back together and wait for our settlement. Some day I dream to own a real pair of Lita's but until then these babies work just fine for me:)

This style I frequently see on and have been loving it! The boots with the high waist-ed shorts paired with a tank and a long flowing jacket or kimono style jacket. Personally I find it to be an all around great summer/fall look for days its still a bit breezy and you want a bit of a wind block on your arms and upper thighs.

The grey tank - Forever 21
Acid Wash shorts - sz 25 Forever 21
Boots Lita inspired look alikes - Ebay
Thunderbird belt - Ebay
Bullet Crystal necklaces - WENT & C.O. (My personal company and designs)

Like an ocean of music we move with the flow

This look was from about a month ago. I wore this while heading up the river for the day, although it was about 70 degrees up the river it still felt a bit chilly and breezy to me. So I decided on a festival summer style look.

The shorts are thrifted, I actually picked them up from a thrift store at the beginning of summer, they were mens size 26 levis and I transformed them into some high waist-ed keepers! Since this photo I have done more work on them and will be posting some looks some with the updated versions of these shorts soon.

The Blue long sleeved over sized shirt I am realizing I actually picked up at the same thrift store on the same day. Its quite large on me but I love the look of big loose shirts taking the place of jackets, especially on breezy summer days. Living on the coast its still a bit chilly in the town during the day so having a long sleeves sometimes is nice! It works nicely to pair a larger shirt like this with sleeves half rolled, about elbow length. I like to just throw one on before my outfit before going out to complete the look and add a little something else to it!

I layered a white tank forever 21 with a crochet vintage 70's style tank from Forever 21.

The belted, studded, boots complete the look giving it that festival feel I was going for.

The boots are by canyon river blues.

Road Trippin'

A very exciting day is in line for a very close dear friend of mine!! One of my best friends Miss Megan Punt, whom I have not gotten to see since 2004 is getting Married on this September 15th of 2012, to a fabulous man, her real life prince charming Mr. J.T. Kneip.

My love and I will road trip to Sioux Falls South Dakota to celebrate this glorious amazing day with them! We are so excited and cannot wait! This will be our first time driving through so many states like this! I cannot wait for all the exciting things we will get to see, so much country between Oregon and South Dakota. I am hoping a lot of rad stops will be in order. Lots of photo opportunities as well. Hopefully I can get some decent fashion photos in while on the trip with some awesome back drops of scenery! I am also hoping to find some unique stores for crystals, beads, leather, silver treasures, sterling, old conchos, arrowheads, old cowboy boots to redesign, and a lot of other exciting thrifting materials to re create!

After asking Megan to help me decide a on a dress she choose a few and I narrowed it down to this one that she had picked. Its a gorgeous violet chiffon dress from one of my absolute favorite online shops Nastygal featuring a crochet top and cutout back. I am super excited for it to arrive so I can try it on and send her a picture!

If you haven't heard of or checked out Nastygal I highly suggest you do!! In my opinion they have a little flare for anyone!! You don't have to be young and eccentric to sport nastygal designs. Just have a passion for loving life and let the clothes do they're job:) I promise when wearing anything from Nasty Gal your sure to get lots of comments and asking's of where you found that amazing piece!

When Soul Meets Body

I actually purchased this navy blue flowing maxi dress last summer but only got to wear it once before summer ended, so for my mom’s retirement-celebration of 40 years at the same job; I decided it was a perfect summer evening fit. I paired it with a long black forever 21 duster style cardigan and a pair of apricot Litas. I love the long flowing dress in the summer! In my next post I am going to be discussing some amazing dresses Id die to own and have in my closet!! From some of my most loved and favorite designers! A few I've just learned of this summer and am so glad these designers are now in my life! They are truly to die for and amazing in soo many ways!!
